Winery Tours

Plan to embark on an informative, luxurious adventure whether you are a first time visitor to the area, wine novice, or experienced connoisseur. Central Virginia is not only a beautiful, picturesque destination to travel to but has become one of the most popular places in the country to visit to taste wine. With over 200 wineries in Virginia, selecting places to tour may be a huge undertaking. Below are suggested wineries to tour, but please do not hesitate to ask for help with itinerary planning. Have places in mind you would like to visit? No problem. We would be happy to provide transportation to your selected destinations. Please visit the recommendations below for additional suggestions in help finding “hidden gem” locations.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • Typically 5-7 hour guided tour (additional hours can be purchased per hour)

  • Tasting at typically three to five different wineries ($5-$20 per stop paid by guests)

  • Lunch Stop of your choice (could bring a picnic or incorporate a stop-food paid by guests)

  • Face-to-face conversations with local brew makers (based on availability and advance scheduling)

  • Tour of at least one winery facility (based on availability and advanced scheduling)

  • Winery photo opportunities

  • Complimentary cooler, ice, and water bottles on board upon request

PICK-UP POINT

  • We’re happy to pick you up from your home or hotel or AirBnb, anywhere in the region you are touring. (50 mile radius)

  • Normally tours start at 11 am, noon, 1 pm or 2 pm. Most wineries close around 5 pm.

Nelson 151 Trail

Nelson 151 is the destination for award-winning Virginia craft beverages, local food & artisans, unique lodging and amazing natural beauty. Virginia Route 151 is a state-designated scenic byway on the sunrise side of the Blue Ridge that is home to the Nelson 151 community.

Seven wineries (Afton Mountain Vineyards, Cardinal Point Vineyard and Winery, Flying Fox Vineyard and Winery, Hazy Mountain, Hill Top Berry Meadery & Winery, Valley Road Vineyards and Veritas Vineyard), four breweries (Blue Mountain Brewery, Bryant’s Brewing, Devils Backbone Brewing Company and Hazy Mountain), three cideries (Blue Toad Hard Cider, Bold Rock Hard Cider and Bryant’s Dry Ciders) and two distilleries (Silverback Distillery and Devils Backbone Distilling Co.) collaborate to more efficiently market and leverage their unique “micro” appellation.
